Grubs chew off grass roots which will reduce the ability of grass to take up water and nutrients. As the grubs feast on the grasses roots you will begin to notice large dead patches develop in the grub-infested areas. Due to the root damaged your sod is not well-anchored and can be rolled back like a carpet, when doing this you will expose the grubs.
